Understand Escorts and UK Law

Legal Information - British Law:
I'm often asked, especially by clients from overseas, 'is seeing an escort legal in the UK?' the answer is yes but here are a few illegal points clients should be aware of:
Soliciting: offering sex in a public place - is illegal, i.e a hotel bar, club, in the street etc.
Hotel Visits: an escort visits you (Outcall) at your hotel - this is legal but it's illegal if she meets you in the hotel bar first. This is seen as soliciting and is illegal. So never ask to meet in this way, she will come to your room and then, together, you can both go down to the hotel bar or restaurant, this is legal. If later, after she has seen you, the escort goes down alone to the hotel bar for a drink, this could then be construed as soliciting.
Calling an Independent Escort: calling a woman who works alone in the sex industry as an escort (sex worker) who is not controlled or promoted by another - when you phone an escort believing her to be independent, be wary. If your call is answered by another person who states that the escort you want is unavailable but there is another girl you could see, the photos of the escort you are requesting are fake - you are in fact speaking to a Madam/Pimp running a brothel which is illegal.
